But only at writing, really. It’s been a bit busy lately on the home front. Work deadlines, a tiny health scare and the subsequent medical bills (it’s all okay now, but it was a pretty stressful month), and the impending entrance of Harry into Kindergarten have combined to form the perfect storm of mental exhaustion.
You know your life has gotten too complicated when you really crave a vacation that entails cleaning your house and sitting quietly in a darkened room with knitting needles and a book on tape. Exotic locations sound like just a wee bit too much work and excitement right now.
Not that I would turn down such a vacation if it dropped free into my lap, mind you.

^This.
While I am excited about actually having three days with my husband in Eureka Springs, I still have to work. Today was the closest thing I’ve had to a day off since the day after Brawl, and there won’t be another free day until…
um, thinking…
looks like the day after Labor Day. Gawd, I love the job, but I realized today that I have let it eat every spare second lately.
Heh – Post Pennsic, I always need a vacation. Once again missed seeing you in the My Mom can Beat Up Your Mom tournament. Right up your alley. Only open to females who have reproduced.

I know what you mean. I recently told my hubby “we NEED to get away” …and then we started trying to figure out where to get away to, and how to get there and the logistics became so nightmarish that we finally looked at each other, sighed, and said “never mind. it’s less work to just clean the house”
Today I found myself craving a vacation that involved doing nothing but going back to bed for up to 8 blissful hours of actually getting enough rest – WITHOUT ANYONE ELSE HOME. Just passing out in a quiet child and husband free house until I was REALLY done sleeping. Really done. Like ALL done.
Just done.
DONE done.
When WAS the last time I got to DO that, anyway?
