I crochet. I learned on my grandmother’s knee when I was seven years old and I have done it on and off all my life. But put two needles in my hand and I was flummoxed, even though I always WANTED to learn how to knit.
Well, given that I have had a bit of time on my hands (and off my legs), it was a good time to start. I only needed a bit of inspiration.
And Shep kindly provided that for me. He mentioned that he wanted a Jayne Cobb hat from the late, great, Joss Whedon series, Firefly. Now that I can learn to knit for.
So I present, without further ado, my first knitting project:
Otherwise known as “The hat that swallowed Harry.”
Have I mentioned that Shep has a REALLY big head?
Literally.

Wow it looks fab!
I’m so stoked to try it on (then promptly take it off before my head explodes from the heat) and can’t wait to wear it on a fairly regular basis come the winter months….or is it month around here? 😉
Hugs Sweetie! thank you SOOOO much!
Sweet!
Nice!
Your first knitted hat looks way better than my first knitted hat. Which shrunk, and now fits the cat.
Very cool!
I can knit, at a moderate skill level, but for the life of me, I can’t move beyond afghans and scarves. Nothing I’ve made has ever fit. Ugh.
OMG… Shep will finally have his fabled Jayne hat! Good lord, he’ll never take it off. ha..ha..ha… I think you just made his YEAR Robbin! 🙂
Did you ask Harry to make that badass face? Cause he is totally the cool kid right there. I think he may have a career in modeling. (See he was all sweet in the little boy-king hat, now he’s cool dude.)
Cute. I would like to be a better knitter.
I love the Firefly series! The characters are so cool. Can’t believe there weren’t more episodes.
Oh. Great hat too! 🙂
That is brilliant!
Not brilliant…cunning!
Looks too big for Shep…send it to me!

Wow, you pick up new skills fast! How long has it been since your leg was broken; two, three weeks? It is a great hat, can’t wait to see it on Ulrich.
[…] don’t think I may ever get to stop making Jayne hats. After I posted Shep’s hat (still waiting for the pic, hint, hint), I got a bit of a run of […]
