We went up Wye Mountain today to get a little of spring at the Daffodil Festival. For you big city folks, this will seem a little, well, less than cosmopolitan. The local Methodist Church (on whose grounds the eponymous flowers reside) sells a bit of barbeque and sodas. There is a small craft barn selling the usual assortment of country birdhouses and baby pillows. But the attraction is definitely the daffodils. Over three acres of them.
Daffodils to pick. Daffodil bulbs to buy. But mostly to just enjoy, and of course, to take pictures in:
Deceptively angelic, isn’t he?
I got him early.
He spent the rest of the day looking more like this:
There’s only so much light and rainbows a boy can take.

He is so big. I was like, who is that child? Then I realized it was Harry.
ROFL Is that the stink eye or not? Both pictures tell the whole story. He’s precious, he’s two, and he’s good at it.
Some of the best kid and daffodils photos I’ve seen! So cute. He’ll laugh about these in 30 years (or at his wedding).
I LOVE daffodils. My grandmother used to have hundreds and hundreds and HUNDREDS of them when I was little and she always let me pick as many as I wanted, just armsful. These pictures reminded me of that.
Seriously? Loving the blue lips.
Ah daffodils. The dumb blondes of the flower world. They always … ALWAYS … bloom before the late frost, and then they die very promptly, before I really have the chance to enjoy them. ;=) Silly things.
But very beautiful! Poor Harry … trapped in a girlie field trip, lookin’ at flowers. I love the blue from whatever popsicle he was eating!
PERFECT POST! Harry is too adorably cute as it is – add him to a field of daffodils, and it just SCREAMS “POST ME POST ME POST ME!!”
