"Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them." – Albert Einstein

…it just keeps getting longer and longer.

And that is not a comment on the marital-enhancement spam that keeps hitting my spam-filters.  I am talking about the gap between my visits to my own blog.

I am on the road.   A lot.  More than I have any right to be.

And here is the scary thing.  My son woke up this morning and looked at my empty place in the bed and asked Kris “Where’s Mommy?”.   Kris told him “Mommy got on a plane today.”  And Harry pretty much nodded his head and said “Okay” and went on with his day.

My friend Trixie picked him up at daycare and took him home (Kris has a dress rehearsal for Handel’s Messiah tonight), and Harry got home and said “Where’s Mommy?”  And Trixie told him that I was away at work, and Harry pretty much nodded and went on with his evening.

Man, this study has GOT to end soon.  I have become a transient to my own son.

there was a time when my youngest thought that the babysitter was the mama. and he called me the lady. as in “why is the lady in your bed, daddy?”

being away from my children for extended periods of time is what led me to leave my lucrative career as a national medical marketing director and become a preschool teacher. the time i’m allowed home with my kids more than makes up for the drastic cut in pay. 🙂

i heard that you guys will be at revel… i’m looking forward to seeing you!

Is Kris singing as part of the choir or a soloist? I sang that in college, and it has become one of my favorites. Some of the runs are very challenging. Quite a wonderful piece of music

Just as a chorus member. I sang it about 18 years ago during my first year of college. It has been about 12 years since I did any singing at all. I decided to join the Community Chorus here at UALR and to take voice lessons to get my voice back in shape. Maybe I will audition for a soloist role in one of our next productions.

I like the Messiah, but my favorites to sing are Carmina Burana and the Verdi Requiem.

When and where is the performance?

    Moose Says:

Tonight at 8:00 At Stella Boyle Performance Hall on the UALR campus. Sunday night at 7:00 at Second Pres off Cantrel. The performance tonight is $10 and may be close to sold out. Sunday night is free with a free will offering.

I would recommend the Sunday performance solely because of the professional soloists. The students will do a fine job on Thursday, but the professionals are very impressive.

You know, I’d say that Harry’s easy acceptance of the fact is a sign of how highly you prioritize him when you are at home. He knows not to worry, you’ll be back, and when you are, he’s number one. Good job. Still hard to do, I know.

Been missing you guys, btw! Hope we can catch up over the holidays sometime!!!
