"Problems cannot be solved at the same level of awareness that created them." – Albert Einstein

Why is it that every time they have a intelligent, original, genuinely funny show with a talented cast on network television, they inevitably cancel it before it can even get off the ground?

ABC Family is pulling a “Sci-Fi Channel” maneuver, a la “Firefly” and “Dresden Files” and is taking their new comic-book based show, “The Middleman”  off the air after one season.

If you haven’t seen this show yet, go now, while you still can.  It just may be the best show you have never seen.  It is wonderfully campy with a deadpan sense of humor, dry as the Sahara, and true to it’s comic-book roots and with more than a few passing nods to pop culture and high culture.   It is also perfectly cast and wonderfully directed.  I have a serious Geek-crush on Matt Keeslar.

In short, it is far, far, too good to last on network TV.

One more point for mediocrity.
