How sad is all that? sheesh! I'd take all of Katrina's blows over what he is dealing with. Easy for me to say, being that I lost basically nothing, but when it's life or stuff, life wins everytime! I'm sorry you lost it all in Slidell. I had a friend who lived there too. She is in Ohio now. We are all scattered to the wind a la Katrina. Bitch. And to think you lived in Slidell and worked in Lakeview. ugh! but hey - don't be down because you are not missing much. You're not missing Nagin doing anything at all. And damn do I mean nothing at all. (but, he was not mayor of your city, so that might help some) You're not missing the idiots that put Bill Jefferson back into the run-offs. You're not missing that they are trying to find a world renowned architect to renovate a 4.1 mile stretch of the Riverfront before they bother to pick up the trash on a regular basis. Trust me - you are not missing a damn thing... except the food. Sorry. Ssshh - didn't mean to mention that. But maybe you are a healthy wise person who eats to live and does not care about the food oriented life we live. Hopefully that is the case, because if it is not, then honey you ARE missing the food! And I know what you mean about supporting those in need whether you know them or not. When we were evacuated to Busy Mom's, we received gift cards from her readers and it BLEW MY MIND! So it is what prompted me to go to the Blueberry Farm website to get an address for Jake & BJ so I can send something. Not sure what yet... money or maybe a New Orleans care package.
